Kelly Bourgeois AS, BA
Owner, Head Trainer
Certified Professional Dog Trainer
CPDT-KA, AKC CGC Evaluator, APDT, CAP1, OSCT
Kelly is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with two college degrees: A BA in Psychology with a focus in animal cognition, and an Associate in Animal Science. She is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge and Skills Assessed (CPDT-KSA). Which is a skill based certification that tests expert training and instruction skills through hands-on exercises. She is a CGC evaluator for the American Kennel Club, and obtained a CAP1 which is a clicker competency assessment. Kelly travels to many animal shelters helping their dogs in need. She enjoys creating behavioral modification plans to help shelter dogs become more adoptable and help them find their forever homes. She is also a member of the association of professional dog trainers (APDT), an Operation Socialization Certified Trainer (OSCT), and a proud member of the Pet Professional Guild. Kelly has helped to train dogs for Canine Companions for Independence – which is an organization that raises and trains service dogs for people with disabilities as well as the Make A Wish Foundation. Because she feels it is important to always have an understanding of the most recent research she enjoys attending annual educational conferences, classes, and seminars in order to keep up with the ever so changing knowledge in this field.
She has been training dogs for over 16 years with both basic obedience training as well as behavioral modification for serious behavioral issues including aggression. Her education in canine behavior and the psychology of how they think and learn allows her to feel comfortable working with all behavioral issues.
Kelly offers both private training as well as group obedience classes. With compassion and positivity she enjoys being able to help you and your dog create a lasting bond and strong communication skills using only humane and modern techniques.
Kelly has 2 dogs of her own: Finley and Meadow (both shelter rescues). She also just recently lost her Vietnamese Potbelly Pig Mu at 16yrs old. Mu enjoyed a beautiful life as a therapy pig by visiting nursing homes, libraries, and after school programs and will be missed greatly.
My goal in life was always to make a difference in the world and to change people’s lives. Yet my passion was to work with animals. I now feel more than lucky to be able to combine my passion and goal together through training.
I continue to learn something new from each dog and am convinced that I will never stop learning!
Camryn Dembiec
Assistant Trainer
CPDT-KA, FDM, DBPE, DN-CET, AKC CGC Evaluator
Camryn is a pet dog trainer who has obtained her Certified Professional Dog Trainer- Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) title through the CCPDT.
Her background in the canine industry stems from many different areas. She has completed the first year of the Canine Training and Management Bachelor’s Degree program at SUNY Cobleskill, has worked at different boarding and daycare facilities in the area, spends numerous hours absorbing self study material, and has completed nosework courses through the Fenzi Dog Sports Academy. In addition, Camryn works at the New Hampshire Humane Society creating and executing enrichment and behavior modification plans to increase canine adoptability. Whether the topic is pet dogs, shelter dogs, or class instruction, Camryn has spent years learning from Kelly.
In her free time, Camryn can be found working with her two rescue dogs, Jasper and Devin, practicing enrichment techniques with her two rescue cats, Jade and Portia, or borrowing a shelter dog for some off campus adventure time. On the off chance that she is not with a domestic animal, she’s probably off somewhere in nature hoping to see some wild ones.
Whether working with people or dogs, Camryn’s training techniques are positive reinforcement based to ensure enjoyment from all parties involved. After all, learning should be fun!
